Vantage Elite & U23 Road National Championships

The Vantage Elite Road National Championships 4-6 January 2019 is New Zealand’s premier elite national road cycling event, attracting New Zealand’s top professional road cyclists competing for the national title.

The event includes three days of intense racing including time trials and men and womens and U23 road races. The highly anticipated Elite Men's and Women's Races culminate in a spectacular finish, which is supported by large crowds of spectators over Napier Hill and finishes on the beach front of Napier’s famous Marine Parade.

The event continues to establish itself as the highlight of the New Zealand road cycling calendar for Elite riders and fans.

There's three maps showing where the elite riders will race.  They are;

Grab a shuttle to Party of the Hill
A free shuttle will be running from outside the Hawke's Bay Club to Napier Terrace, by Ormond Chapel. Here's the dates and times:

Saturday 5 Jan
One bus will run from 10.10am leaving from Hawke's Bay Club to Napier Terrace and return.
Final shuttle will leave Napier Terrace at 1pm to head back to Marine Parade to see the riders come over the finish line.

Sunday 6 Jan
Two buses will run from 10.00am leaving from Hawke's Bay Club to Napier Terrace and return.
Final shuttle will leave Napier Terrace at 1pm to head back to Marine Parade to see the riders come over the finish line.

The Vantage Elite National Championships is New Zealand’s premier national road cycling event, attracting New Zealand’s top professional and amateur road cyclists.

The highly anticipated Elite Men's Race is on the final day and follows a 166km course over Napier Hill streets and Hawke's Bay rural roads. It culminates in a spectacular finish, which will be supported by large crowds of spectators over Napier Hill and finishes on the beach front of Napier’s famous Marine Parade.

It includes the Fulton Hogan King of the Mountain and Fulton Hogan Sprint Prime Race.
2pm Medal Presentation (approx) - Will take place as soon as possible after final finisher.

Spectators are encouraged to watch this exciting event. Join the 'Party on the Hill' on Napier Hill, Botanical Gardens or gather by the finish line on Marine Parade to witness the final lap!
